January Workplace Planning: 5 Tips to Set the Tone for a Productive Year

Updated: Jan 15

What keeps our eyes fixed on the future is our ambition driven by our success. As the new year unfolds, January marks the perfect time for organizations to embark on strategic workplace planning, setting the stage for a year of productivity. Here’s 5 things you can do to position yourself and your business for success:

I. Reflect:

Look back on last year and figure out what went well and what could be done better. Nothing gives you better insight into what to think about when planning for the new year.

II. Set Clear Goals:

January is goal setting season, yours should be reasonable and measurable. Measurable is the key word here; revenue targets, progress on projects, research & development, client satisfaction, social media engagement, or any other metric you could imagine.

III. Help Others with Goal-Setting:

Lead by example, encourage your colleagues to commit to their own goals and support them as you share the path of progress.

IV. Review and Adjust Workspaces:

Evaluate your current workspace layout and think about how it aligns with your goals. Is there anything that could be shifted, added or removed to make things run more smoothly? Remember, this extends to digital spaces too!

V. Training:

Are there any new skills you or your team could learn or use? Well-trained people are better equipped to achieve their goals, it's a fact.

(how about one more for good luck...?)

VI. Well-being:

Prioritize self-care. People with healthy lifestyles feel more motivated and therefore accomplish their goals

January is an important month for a number of reasons. For a lot of folks it serves as a time for reflection and forecast, goal setting, optimization and well being. Achieving this, rest assured you are ready to accomplish what you set out to do. Embrace the planning process and you'll see the results. Trust me.
